As a fossil fired power construction company, SEPCO is the earliest in China taking part in the construction of nuclear power projects. It is also the earliest in China obtaining the abilities of constructing both nuclear island and conventional island of nuclear power plant. It takes part in the construction of 5 nuclear power projects, among which 2 are completed and 3 are under construction.

Daya Bay 2×900MW Nuclear Power plant:SEPCO started the construction of conventional island of Daya Bay 2×900MW Nuclear Power plant in year 1985 and completed it in year 1994. SEPCO as the CI erection contractor was appraised by assessment committee of IAEA as the “Exemplary Contractor”. Daya Bay Nuclear Power Plant was awarded “the 1994 Power Plant Award” by Electric Power International, USA. It took the first place in nuclear power plants.

Ling’ao 2×1000MW nuclear power project：In year 1997, SEPCO was awarded the contract for the construction of conventional island of Ling’ao 2×1000MW nuclear power project. Completed in year 2002, it was praised by the Owner as “exquisite workmanship”. |
